The ‘Asiwaju’ singer made this statement shortly after parting ways with Jonzing World Records, owned by renowned music executive D’Prince, brother of Don Jazzy.

In an Instagram announcement on February 6, 2023, Ruger expressed gratitude to Jonzing World and D’Prince but emphasized his decision to prioritize himself moving forward.

In a newly released freestyle titled ‘Blownboy,’ under his newly established Blown Boy Entertainment, Ruger formally rejected the concept of godfatherism, positioning himself as his own boss.

“I renounce all allegiance to any godfather, this year is solely about me,” he proclaimed in the freestyle video shared on his YouTube channel on Friday.
