Ali Bello and Suleiman are facing ten counts of prosecution from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), but the trial was abruptly halted when the witness, an Abuja-based bureau de change operator named Rabiu Musa, suddenly felt unwell.
Musa, who was testifying about his interactions with the defendants, presented two record books but struggled to recall specifics. Despite being illiterate in English and relying on an interpreter, he began feeling uneasy midway through his testimony, citing increased blood pressure.
Concerned for his health, Justice James Omotosho granted a adjournment to February 13, 22, and 23, advising Musa to prioritize his well-being and review the transactions recorded in the books.
Representatives for the defendants, Ali Bello and Dauda Suleiman, were present as the trial was adjourned, with the court urging the witness to recuperate before continuing his testimony.
