JUST IN: Troubling Revelation As Primate Ayodele Reacts To N35,000 Wage Increment
Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has offered advice to President Bola Tinubu regarding the proposed N35,000 increase in wages for federal government workers.
In a statement endorsed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele cautioned that this adjustment could potentially result in heightened hunger and inflation within the country.
He characterized the decision as hasty and misguided, expressing the belief that the intended objective would not be realized due to the likelihood of corruption in its distribution.
In the end, Primate Ayodele opined, both the government and the workers would not ultimately benefit from this increment.
‘’The N35,000 increment in workers’ wages is an additional hunger. If the government doesn’t look at it well, it will lead to a worse situation. I don’t know how the government wants to do it but it will cause inflation.
“The government will not be able to do anything because there will be corruption in the distribution. It’s wrong advice.’’
The clergyman emphasized that the government should have sought additional time to devise comprehensive and sustainable strategies for addressing the economic crisis, rather than implementing the wage increase.
He pointed out that the overall cost of living will surge, hindering any potential progress.
‘’It won’t help the government and will not help the worker. I don’t know how NLC sees it but it will not help anything, it will add more to the pain.
“The government should have requested more time to plan it properly. It will lead to high cost of living.
‘’Prices of things will start going up now, the government should think about it very well. I am not seeing any progress, it will amount to more hardship for our economy.’’
