This significant development was announced by the APC National Organizing Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, in a statement released on Wednesday, marking a pivotal moment in the unfolding political landscape.

The party’s decision to replace Uzodinma comes in the aftermath of a tumultuous primary election in Edo State, which was plagued by controversy and confusion. The primary, initially declared inconclusive, witnessed three different candidates being proclaimed as winners, leading to widespread unrest within the party.

The chaos surrounding the primary reached its peak as protests erupted, and tensions escalated following conflicting declarations of victory by different factions within the party. Dennis Idahosa, Monday Okpebholo, and Sunday Dekeri were all embroiled in the dispute, each claiming the title of winner amid the chaos.

The appointment of Governor Bassey Otu to lead the revised primary election committee signals a fresh start and a renewed commitment to transparency and fairness within the APC. With the party’s eyes set on the future, this shake-up underscores the importance of stability and unity as it navigates the complex political terrain of Edo State.
