The victim, identified as Nwoga Maduabuchi, hails from Akparata village in the Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. He was married to the suspect, his second wife from Uburu community in the Ohaozara Local Government Area, and the couple resided in Abakaliki, the state capital.
Sources reveal that an argument between the victim and his second wife escalated, ultimately leading to the fatal push. Witnesses recount the horrifying scene, describing it as a tragic outcome of domestic violence.
“The man is just a victim of domestic violence… It was a family matter. But the second wife became so enraged over the matter and acted the way she did, by pushing her husband down from the two-storey building. That’s the height of wickedness,” shared a security officer who wished to remain anonymous.
Further insights from another source suggest that the suspect, heavily pregnant at the time, had been embroiled in frequent quarrels with her late husband, with reports indicating constant nagging as a contributing factor.
As the community reels from the shock of this devastating incident, the state police command is yet to issue a statement regarding the matter, leaving many unanswered questions surrounding the tragic loss of life and the circumstances leading to it.
