Bishop Mlola expressed concern and urged for prayers for their safe return: “The Frater has been in Nigeria for a missionary mission before proceeding for theological studies. We should pray to God that the two are rescued from any dangers and return in peace, light, and complete freedom.”

Tanzania’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. Benson Bana, confirmed the incident and stated that they are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safe release of the abducted individuals. He mentioned that incidents of abduction are unfortunately common in Nigeria and that they are working to prevent any harm to the victims.

The abductors are demanding a ransom of 100 million naira, which is approximately equivalent to Sh325.1 million. Dr. Bana noted that it’s crucial to handle the situation cautiously, as the kidnappers might inflate the ransom demands.

The Africa Missionary Society and the Tanzanian Episcopal Conference (TEC) are cooperating with law enforcement in Nigeria to address the situation and ensure the release of the abducted individuals.
