Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, announced these accomplishments, emphasizing the steadfast commitment of the armed forces to combat terrorism and ensure the safety of citizens. He underscored that the recent achievements have bolstered the military’s position in the ongoing fight against insurgency.

“The armed forces are resolutely engaged in dismantling terrorist networks and restoring peace and security for our people. We are inflicting heavy losses on the terrorists, demonstrating our resolve to protect our nation,” Maj. Gen. Buba stated.

He further outlined the successful operations against oil theft, revealing the arrest of 36 suspects and the recovery of stolen crude oil valued at N637 million. Troops deployed in the Niger Delta region also dismantled numerous illegal refining sites and confiscated significant quantities of stolen crude oil and refined petroleum products.

Moreover, the military seized a considerable cache of weapons and ammunition, including rifles, guns, explosives, and various communication devices, disrupting the capability of criminal elements to perpetrate violence and instability.

These recent achievements underscore the military’s unwavering determination to safeguard the nation’s territorial integrity and protect its citizens from threats posed by insurgents and criminal syndicates.
