He described her as a surrogate mother, especially in the absence of his own mother. “I am saddened by the passing of Hajia Aya Dada Yar’Adua, mother of my late mentor, Tafida Shehu Yar’Adua, late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, Senator Abdulaziz Yar’Adua, among others,” Abubakar wrote. “In the absence of my beloved mother, I adopted Hajiya Dada as a mother.”

Abubakar praised Hajia Dada’s generosity and warmth, noting that her home was a sanctuary for many. “Indeed, she was a mother of multitudes, as her home was always a place of refuge where she welcomed everyone with love,” he remarked. “She will be sorely missed.”

The former Vice President extended his condolences to the Yar’Adua family, friends, and associates. He also expressed sympathy to the government and people of Katsina State, emphasizing the loss felt across the nation. “May her sins be forgiven and that she be granted Aljannah Firdausi. Ameen,” Abubakar added.
