Atiku Ally Crosses Over To APC, Meets Party Chairman Yilwatda

According to reports, Aliyu, who spent nearly two decades working within Atiku’s political structure, said her decision to join the APC was based on her belief that the opposition has failed to present a realistic and sustainable plan capable of addressing the country’s challenges.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the politician explained that while her loyalty to Atiku remained firm throughout her years of political engagement, she had reached a point where she needed to support what she described as a more productive political direction.

Aliyu called on Nigerian youths, women, and members of opposition parties to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, urging them to embrace what she described as the Renewed Hope Agenda.

She stated that she was convinced that President Tinubu would retain the presidency in the 2027 general elections, declaring that there would be no change in leadership at the Presidential Villa.

Before her defection, Aliyu served as the leader of Project Atiku Abubakar (PAA) 2027 and Zamfara Top 10, a platform of digital media stakeholders and political mobilisers that supported Atiku’s presidential ambition.

The move marks a significant political shift, considering her previous role as a key figure in Atiku’s support network. In July 2025, Atiku had reportedly acknowledged Aliyu as a prominent Zamfara politician during a meeting with her team.

Following her decision to leave the ADC, Aliyu met with the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, who welcomed her into the party.

Yilwatda described her defection as a positive move, saying Aliyu had made the right decision by joining the APC and supporting the ideals of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
