Breaking: PDP Postpones Edo-Governorship Campaign Inauguration-Indefinitely Due To Strike

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has indefinitely postponed the inauguration of the Edo State Governorship Election National Campaign Council, initially scheduled for Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba announced the postponement on Monday in Abuja, citing the industrial action undertaken by labor unions across the country.

Ologunagba stated that a new date for the inauguration would be communicated in due course.

“The PDP charges all members of the campaign council, party leaders, critical stakeholders, our teeming members, and supporters in Edo State and across the nation to continue in their unrelenting efforts towards the success of our party and governorship candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, in the September 21, 2024, governorship election in Edo State,” he said.

The indefinite strike declared by organized labor has significantly impacted government and private businesses in Abuja, with nearly 100 percent compliance in government ministries, departments, and agencies.
