Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has reiterated the university’s dedication to maintaining a synergistic relationship with federal legislators at the National Assembly. This collaboration, he emphasized, has significantly propelled the university’s developmental strides.

Prof. Ikechebelu made these remarks yesterday during a courtesy visit by members of the Anambra Caucus in the Federal House of Representatives. He expressed the university’s openness to partnerships aimed at bolstering its academic and infrastructural capabilities, underscoring its current standing as Nigeria’s fourth-best institution under 50 years of age as a testament to collaborative efforts.

Highlighting the university’s commitment to academic excellence, Prof. Ikechebelu stressed the importance of enhanced infrastructure to support its growth trajectory. He acknowledged the pivotal role played by the Anambra Caucus in the university’s progress and looked forward to further nurturing this beneficial relationship.

“We have enjoyed a longstanding positive relationship with the Anambra Caucus, which has been instrumental in our development. We anticipate further growth through continued collaboration,” he stated.

The visiting delegation included Hon. Afam Ogene (Ogbaru), Hon. Dom Okafor (Aguata), Hon. Chinwe Nnabuife (Orumba North and South), Hon. Ifeanyi Uzokwe (Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo), Hon. Engr Emeka Idu (Onitsha North and South), Hon. Chinwe Gwacham (Oyi/Ayamelum), and Chief Peter Aniekwe Udeogalanya (Anambra East and Anambra West Federal constituencies).

Hon. Afam Ogene, leading the delegation, emphasized their commitment to ensuring Anambra receives its fair share from the federal budget. “We view Nnamdi Azikiwe University as a crucial partner in our efforts to represent our constituents effectively. Our collaboration is not just strategic but synergistic with other honorable members,” he affirmed. He assured the Acting Vice Chancellor of the caucus’ steadfast support in securing essential resources for the university.

In a vote of thanks, Hon. Chinwe Nnabuife reassured the Acting Vice Chancellor and the university community of the caucus’ unwavering commitment. “You can count on us.
