JUST IN: Abia State Bans Okada (SEE LOCATIONS)
The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has issued a new rule that bans the operation of commercial motorcyclists, commonly known as okada, in the city areas of Umuahia and Aba…CONTINUE READING
Kazie Uko, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Otti, stated that this ban is effective immediately.
As of Monday, August 14, 2023, any motorcycle used for commercial purposes within the Umuahia State capital and Aba Metropolis will be confiscated by the security forces.
The directive also instructs the security agencies to apprehend individuals who violate this order, and they may face legal action as a consequence. This new policy takes immediate effect.
