According to reports, the initial airstrike targeted the hideout of terrorist leader Maudi Maudi in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State. While the fate of Maudi Maudi remains unconfirmed, the strike inflicted significant damage on his base and eliminated several of his associates. A subsequent assessment revealed extensive destruction in the targeted area, indicating a severe blow to the terrorist infrastructure.

Meanwhile, another operation was carried out against the notorious terrorist Na-Shama in Ussu village, located in Zamfara state’s Birnin Magaji Local Government Area. Trusted intelligence sources confirmed the successful elimination of Na-Shama’s camp and logistical support, along with the elimination of numerous terrorist accomplices.

AVM Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, emphasized the precision and effectiveness of the airstrikes in safeguarding civilian lives and disrupting terrorist activities. While the specific fate of the targeted leaders remains uncertain, the operations underscored the military’s commitment to combating terrorism and securing the Northwestern region from threats posed by insurgents.

“This proactive approach aligns with the mission objectives of Operation Hadarin Daji, which primarily focuses on securing the Northwestern region of Nigeria from the menace of terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry,” stated Gabkwet.
