Nigeria Attracts Over 200 Chinese-Firms For Investment-Opportunities, FG Reveals (Details)

The Nigerian government has announced that over 200 Chinese firms have shown interest in investing in the country. This was disclosed by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, through a press release issued by his spokesperson, Alkasim Abdulkadir.

The interest was revealed during the China-Nigeria Business Forum in Beijing, China, on Friday, June 21, as part of Minister Tuggar’s official visit to Asia.

Naija News reports that Tuggar is visiting China at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi. The forum, organized by the Nigerian Embassy and Yingke Law Firm, aimed to enhance trade and investment between Nigeria and China and promote business collaboration to strengthen economic ties.

“Amb. Tuggar highlighted the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and China, emphasizing mutual respect and shared developmental goals. This event underscores our commitment to strengthening Nigeria-China relations through direct business engagements, paving the way for increased bilateral trade, investment opportunities, and innovative collaborations that will benefit both nations,” the press release stated.

Over 200 Chinese companies participated in the event, demonstrating a strong interest in economic collaboration between the two countries.

During his visit, the Nigerian Minister is scheduled to attend several high-level meetings and events, including the inaugural Plenary Session of the Nigeria-China Intergovernmental Committee in Beijing and the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian. He will also meet with ECOWAS Ambassadors and launch the 4D Cultural Diplomacy Programme of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Nigerian Embassy. These engagements are expected to further solidify the strategic partnership between Nigeria and China.
