Nigerians React As NFF Praises Ajibade For Securing-Prestigious Club Honor (Text)
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has congratulated Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, for winning Atletico Madrid’s Player of the Season award.
Ajibade was named Atletico Madrid”s best player of the 2023-24 season on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old netted 10 times and provided five assists for the Red and Whites during the campaign.
The winger scored the decisive goal on the final day of the season against Villarreal which qualified Atletico for the final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
“Rasheedat has always been that role model who exemplifies what you expect of a star actor in any field. She has been an epitome of discipline and dedication, and has carried the Super Falcons on her lean shoulders with a sense of patriotism and ambition,” Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi told thenff.com.
“We congratulate and commend her for the rare honour and we believe that the diadem will spur her even further to lead the Super Falcons to glory at the forthcoming Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in France.”
Ajibade is expected to lead the Super Falcons’ quest for a podium finish at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
