Enogieru Larry Precious, for instance, was charged with possessing documents containing false pretence. The charge specified that he knowingly possessed such documents in Benin City, Edo State, on or about May 8th, 2024. The charge was brought under the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006.

Following their guilty pleas, the prosecution counsel, I. K. Agwai, Salihu Ahmed, and Ibrahim Faisal, urged the court to convict and sentence the defendants accordingly.

In response, Justice Efe Ikponmwonba handed down various jail terms to the nine suspects, marking a significant step in the fight against fraudulent activities in the state. This verdict underscores the seriousness with which the judiciary views such crimes and sends a clear message of deterrence to potential offenders.
