The Incoming Governor Okpebholo’s Transition Committee Issues Strong Warning ‘Hiding Information Won’t Work’

The transition committee of Edo State’s governor-elect, Monday Okpebholo, has issued a stern warning to the incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki, urging him not to withhold any information. Pius Odubu, the former deputy governor and chairman of the transition committee, emphasized that providing necessary documents will enable the incoming administration to commence operations effectively.

He cautioned that any concealed information would eventually come to light. Odubu stated, “The electioneering period is over, and we are now prepared to govern. We have skilled individuals ready to take charge, and we require access to all the information you possess.”

He continued, “Let us not attempt to obscure any details, as there are multiple ways to obtain information. It’s best to provide us with everything you have for a thorough briefing session, ensuring the incoming government is well-prepared to hit the ground running.”

“This transition committee has a set timeline, and we request your full cooperation to gather the necessary information as swiftly as possible. We need to familiarize ourselves with the current government situation before the new governor takes office, and this requires your documents, both physical and digital when applicable.”

“We aim to complete this within the specified timeframe and expect a collaborative effort. You mentioned that the documents would be ready early next week. Once received, if additional information is needed, we will reach out to you promptly.
