Following the approval by the Federal Government, facilitated by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), for a 300% tariff increment for Band A consumers, Senator Ndume released a statement on Saturday condemning the decision.

He highlighted the numerous challenges facing Nigerians, including the aftermath of the fuel subsidy removal, inflation, insecurity, and other financial burdens. Ndume emphasized the need for stable electricity supply, reduction in inflation, stabilization of the naira, and provision of basic amenities before implementing such tariff hikes.
