Zamfara Gov Vows Bello Turji’s Days Are Numbered: “He Will Be Killed Very Soon”

The Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, announced on Monday that the persistent attacks orchestrated by the notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji, will soon come to an end. Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Lawal expressed confidence that Turji will be apprehended or eliminated in the near future.

Lawal cited the cooperation between the state government, the Federal Government, and security agencies as key to Turji’s impending downfall, saying, “It’s only a matter of time; Turji will be killed very, very soon.”

This statement follows the military’s recent victory over another wanted bandit leader, Halilu Sububu, and more than 30 of his associates. Sububu, who had been terrorizing the North-West, was killed during a military operation last week.

Governor Lawal acknowledged that while Turji’s death would not completely eradicate banditry in Zamfara State, it would significantly reduce the violence. He emphasized the need to maintain military pressure on bandit groups, expressing optimism that the situation would improve within a month.
