On Tuesday, the Chief Whip of the Senate, Sen. Ali Ndume, exited the plenary session following the ruling of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who deemed him out of order.
Mr. Ndume had raised a point of order, referring to Order 54 of the Senate rules, asserting that it was the duty of the Chief Whip to provide guidance on the procedures and processes of plenary sessions.
Through this order, Mr. Ndume sought to bring attention to matters concerning the proceedings of the Senate.
However, after hearing Mr. Ndume’s point of order, the Senate President stated that the section quoted by Mr. Ndume did not align with the content of Order 54 cited.
