Senator Elisha Abbo has asserted that five senators are being targeted for removal due to their lack of support for Godswill Akpabio’s bid for the Senate presidency.

He made this claim at his residence in Abuja on Monday, shortly after his election into the Senate was nullified by the Court of Appeal.

During the press conference, Abbo, who represented Adamawa North, identified Orji Uzor Kalu as one of the five senators slated to be ousted from the red chambers for not backing Akpabio’s candidacy.

While he characterized the judgment that removed him from office as an assault on democracy, he urged his supporters to remain steadfast despite the ruling.

Senator Abbo asserted that even though the court declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Amos Yohanna, as the victor of the February election, he believes he actually won the contest, garnering a lead of 11,000 votes over the PDP candidate.
