Just In: Adamawa Police Apprehend Two Alleged Highway-Robbers
Police authorities in Adamawa State have detained two individuals suspected of involvement in armed robbery activities. These individuals are believed to be part of a group of five men responsible for terrorizing motorists traveling along the Numan-Lafiya road, which links Adamawa and Gombe states.
As per a statement from the Adamawa State Police Command obtained on Wednesday morning, the apprehended suspects have been identified as Bello Siddiki, aged 31, and Hammadu Saidu, aged 25. Both individuals hail from Sabewa Borrong in the Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The arrests were made following a comprehensive investigation directed by the state’s Commissioner of Police.
According to the statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, “These criminals are involved in multiple attacks on motorists along the highway, including the recent robbery of a Sienna Bus conveying passengers from Abuja to Yola, including one Hassan Kwaji, during which they attacked and robbed them of their handsets and other valuables.”
The statement further disclosed that items recovered from the suspects include two machetes, a knife, a handset, and a SIM card suspected to have been utilized in the commission of crimes.
“The suspects will be charged to court to face the full consequences of their actions,” assured the Police.
