Just In: Ondo State Governor-Approves Renovation Of Akure-Township Stadium And Other Key Projects (View Details)

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has given the green light for the renovation of the Akure township stadium, among other significant projects approved at the State Executive Council meeting this week.

Chairing the meeting, Governor Aiyedatiwa authorized several projects, including the construction of a new state judicial complex, enhancements to the state’s road network, and the development of a 28km road linking Akotogbo, Iju, and Osun in the Irele local government area.

Addressing reporters after the Council meeting, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, noted the prolonged delay in the renovation of the Akure township stadium. He highlighted that the renovation plans aim to modernize key facilities such as the main stadium, football field, basketball courts, and a swimming pool. These improvements are intended to elevate the stadium to international standards, making it suitable for hosting major events.
