In a recent discovery during post-marketing surveillance in FCT, Abuja, NAFDAC revealed the deceptive product, branded as “Paracetamol Injection 300mg/2ml I.M I.V Aminoglycoside Antibacterial,” contains only paracetamol, devoid of any bacterial-fighting properties.

Authentic paracetamol injections, crucial for alleviating pain and fever, differ significantly from aminoglycosides, potent antibiotics reserved for severe bacterial infections.

NAFDAC emphasized the need for public caution, clarifying that the genuine Paracetamol Injection 300mg/2ml I.M I.V is produced by Shandong Shenglu Pharm. Co. Ltd, China, and distributed by Sifam Life Care Pharmaceutical Ltd., Kano, Nigeria.

Exposing the grave health risks posed by the fake product, NAFDAC underscored the importance of relying on certified medications and urged vigilance against counterfeit drugs flooding the market.
