Nigeria Police Inspector Cuts Off Pregnant Wife’s Hand Over ₦3,000
The Plateau State Command of the Nigeria Police Force is currently investigating one of its personnel, an Inspector, who allegedly severed his wife’s hand over a dispute involving ₦3,000. According to reports, the Inspector had left ₦20,000 at home before going out. Upon his return, he demanded ₦3,000 from his wife, but she refused. This disagreement escalated into a violent altercation, resulting in the officer cutting off his pregnant wife’s hand.
The State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the Inspector and stated that an investigation is underway. The Police Spokesman, DSP Alfred Alabo, verified the incident, stating that the officer is currently held at the State CID while investigations proceed.
The victim, who is pregnant, has been hospitalized following the gruesome attack. Witnesses recounted the incident, expressing shock and concern for the well-being of the victim. The motive behind the officer’s violent actions remains unclear as investigations continue.
