The reappointment, which took effect on October 31, 2024, is in line with the provisions of Sections 10 (1) and (3) of the National Biotechnology Development Agency (Establishment) Act, 2022.

Omozuwa highlighted that industry experts view the reappointment as a testament to President Tinubu’s confidence in Prof. Mustapha’s leadership and his ability to drive innovations in the biotechnology sector, particularly in advancing food security and pharmaceutical production.

Prof. Mustapha, a specialist in Bioinorganic Chemistry from Dambatta Local Government Area in Kano State, is expected to continue his efforts to position Nigeria at the forefront of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
