In a statement to Naija News on Wednesday, Tenebe claimed that those responsible for the kidnappings are linked to individuals who killed a policeman during the governorship campaigns.
According to him, PDP leaders have turned to kidnapping as a source of income since leaving office, using weapons allegedly procured for them by former Governor Godwin Obaseki to destabilize the state.
“I urge the Commissioner of Police, security agency heads, and stakeholders to take immediate action against these PDP leaders. We have credible intelligence linking them to recent kidnappings,” Tenebe stated.
He further alleged that arms acquired during the last elections were still in circulation and being used to make Edo State ungovernable for Governor Okpebholo.
“As a party, we will not sit idly by while an irresponsible opposition faction endangers the state. We will support security agencies in identifying and apprehending these criminals to ensure the safety of Edo residents,” he added.
