Tinubu Reappoints Prof. Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe for Second Term as CMD of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital

Kano, August 21, 2024 — President Bola Tinubu has reappointed Professor Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe as the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital for a second and final term. The new term will commence on December 5, 2024.

Professor Sheshe, who first assumed the role in December 2019, will continue his leadership with a focus on advancing the hospital’s standards and improving the quality of healthcare services provided to the community.

In a statement issued today, President Tinubu’s spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, emphasized the President’s expectations for Professor Sheshe’s renewed commitment. “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reappointment of Professor Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe as the Chief Medical Director of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, for a second and final term of four years, effective December 5, 2024,” the statement read.

The President’s statement continued: “Professor Sheshe was initially appointed as the Chief Medical Director on December 6, 2019. With this reappointment, President Tinubu anticipates that Professor Sheshe will continue to elevate the hospital’s performance, leveraging his extensive experience to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.”
