According to Ireporter Online, reality television star and entertainer Tope Adenibuyan, popularly known as Teddy A, has spoken candidly about the emotional toll false reports about his personal life have taken on him.

The singer addressed allegations that accused him of physically abusing his wife, actress Bamike “Bambam” Olawunmi, describing the claim as the most hurtful story he has ever encountered about himself. He shared his experience during a recent interview, explaining that the report emerged at a time when everything appeared normal in his household, with his wife, who was pregnant at the time, relaxed and watching a movie at home.

Teddy A recounted that his attention was drawn to the issue after he began receiving an unusual surge of notifications on his phone, despite not having posted any new content online. Curious about the sudden activity, he checked social media and was shocked to discover conversations accusing him of beating his wife, including during her pregnancy.

He said the allegation came as a complete surprise to both him and his wife, adding that Bambam became deeply emotional and repeatedly questioned the origin of such a damaging story. According to him, he was unable to identify who started the report or trace its source.

Following the discovery, Teddy A said he contacted his manager to seek advice on how to respond. He was advised to avoid addressing the matter publicly and to allow the issue fade naturally. While he initially accepted the advice and chose to remain silent, he later realised that the decision had long-term consequences for his public image.

He explained that the accusation continued to resurface repeatedly in comment sections, even under posts unrelated to the allegation. Teddy A noted that people often brought up the claim under his personal posts with his wife, questioning their relationship despite efforts by Bambam to dispel the rumours and demonstrate that the report was untrue.

According to him, the persistent false narrative negatively shaped public perception of his character and marriage, leaving an impression he never anticipated. He added that the experience taught him how damaging unverified stories can be, especially when left unchallenged.
