According to Ireporter Online, 38 worshippers who were abducted by gunmen in Eruku, Kwara State, have been safely reunited with their families following their rescue. The group had been kidnapped on November 18, 2025, during a special thanksgiving service at the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun, Eruku.

A statement released on Tuesday night by the Chief Press Secretary to the Ekiti Local Government Council Chairman, Dada Sunday, confirmed that the rescued worshippers were formally handed over to Ekiti LGA Chairman, Awelewa Olawale Gabriel, in Ilorin by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

After undergoing medical evaluations and security documentation procedures, the victims returned to Eruku around 6:30 pm on Tuesday, where they were joyfully welcomed by family members across all 10 wards.

While receiving the abductees, Awelewa expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, Governor AbdulRazaq, the National Security Adviser, and security agencies for their prompt intervention. He commended the comprehensive medical care provided to the rescued worshippers and assured residents that his administration would maintain a strong focus on security throughout the local government area.
