In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos, Aivoji urged Shaibu to remain patient and committed to the PDP despite his impeachment.
The Edo State House of Assembly impeached Shaibu on Monday following the recommendation of a seven-man judicial panel. The rift between Shaibu and Governor Godwin Obaseki arose when Shaibu expressed interest in succeeding Obaseki as governor, leading to a parallel party governorship primary in February.
However, Aivoji advised Shaibu to stay loyal to the party and not to consider leaving despite the recent developments. He emphasized the importance of remaining in the PDP and working towards reclaiming Edo State.
Aivoji further encouraged Shaibu to trust in divine intervention and continue striving towards his gubernatorial aspirations. He reiterated that Shaibu’s future prospects within the party remained bright, and he could still achieve his goal of becoming the governor in the future.
In conclusion, Aivoji urged Shaibu to focus on reconciling and building bridges within the party to fulfill his dreams of governance.
