In a statement released to BusinessDay, SEEPCO emphasized that it takes these concerns seriously and has promptly engaged in open and transparent discussions with the union to address them.

“As a responsible corporate entity, we adhere to federal laws and industry regulations. Our commitment to employee welfare, host communities, and stakeholders ensures we uphold high standards in labor relations, environmental sustainability, and corporate governance,” the statement read.

SEEPCO clarified that it fully complies with the Collective Bargaining Agreement with PENGASSAN, as well as the Industrial Act and federal laws of Nigeria. The company highlighted its significant contributions to Nigeria’s economy, including job creation, energy security, local content development, and community initiatives.

Refuting claims that misrepresent its labor practices, SEEPCO reaffirmed its history of constructive engagement with labor unions. The company urged PENGASSAN and other stakeholders to resolve concerns through proper channels, emphasizing its dedication to ethical and professional standards.
