Tiger Woods Busted After Florida Crash Golf Legend Faces DUI Charge
Golf icon Tiger Woods has been arrested in Florida following a road crash that has led to charges of driving under the influence. According to Ireporter Online, the incident occurred on Friday afternoon, March 27, in Jupiter Island, where law enforcement officials confirmed the development later that evening.
Authorities disclosed that Woods was behind the wheel of a Land Rover when he allegedly attempted to overtake a truck at high speed. The maneuver reportedly caused the vehicle to lose control, swerve off course, and overturn onto its side. Officials at the scene noted visible signs of impairment, although a breathalyser test conducted returned a negative result. However, Woods declined to undergo a urinalysis test when requested by officers.
A spokesperson for the Martin County Sheriff’s Office explained that the refusal to comply with the test resulted in additional charges, including property damage and failure to submit to a lawful test, alongside the DUI count. Under Florida law, the golfer is required to remain in custody for a minimum of eight hours before he can be considered for release on bond, as the offences are classified as misdemeanours.
Police further confirmed that Woods was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash and that no injuries were recorded. The truck involved was towing a pressure cleaner trailer, and its driver reportedly attempted to avoid the collision but was unable to do so due to limited space on the road.
Responding officers revealed that Woods exited the overturned vehicle through the passenger side before their arrival, though it remains uncertain whether he had been wearing a seat belt. Officials described him as appearing lethargic at the scene, attributing the condition to suspected intoxication.
Law enforcement authorities warned that the outcome could have been far more severe under different circumstances, noting that the crash posed significant danger to other road users. Reports indicate that this latest incident adds to a series of previous vehicular controversies involving the golf star, marking another troubling chapter in his history with road-related offences.
