Arabi made this known in response to the Federal Executive Council’s recent approval of the implementation of recommendations from the Oronsaye panel on restructuring and rationalization of government agencies and commissions.

In an enlightening interview on Channels TV, Arabi clarified that the scope of the Oronsaye report transcends mere scrapping or streamlining of ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs). He emphasized that the report advocates for a holistic restructuring of the federal civil service and critical government ministries.

Highlighting specific instances where the report’s recommendations have already been acted upon, Arabi cited the establishment of the Nigeria Financial and Intelligence Unit as an independent entity, separating it from the EFCC, among other initiatives such as the privatization of River Basin Development Authorities.

Arabi’s remarks underscore the government’s proactive approach to reforming bureaucracy, with tangible progress already underway even before recent directives. He urged Nigerians to exercise patience as the task team assigned to implement the report begins its official duties, assuring that positive changes will manifest from the ongoing efforts.
