Burna Boy Tops Davido & Wizkid In Nigeria And Worldwide — 2Baba

According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba or Tuface, has stirred discussion in the Afrobeats community by naming Damini Ogulu, widely known as Burna Boy, as the leading artist over Davido and Wizkid.

Speaking on the Mic On Podcast, hosted by Seun Okinbaloye and shared on X on Sunday, 2Baba praised the talents of all three artists but said Burna Boy currently operates on a “different level” musically.

“I have my favourite songs from each of them. But if I must make a choice, I think Burna is at the top of the game right now,” he stated.

2Baba emphasized that comparing artists directly is unfair, likening it to judging painters who create unique works. He noted that his assessment is not based on personal wealth or success but on his understanding of the global music industry.

“Different artists have different styles and appeal to different audiences. From a general perspective, and based on my understanding of the music world, Burna Boy is currently at the top—not just in Nigeria, but across Africa and globally,” he added, while acknowledging that all three artists continue to perform exceptionally well.

The debate over who leads the Nigerian Afrobeats scene has been ongoing, with Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid frequently compared as the country’s top musical export.
