Fikayo Tomori ‘Relieved’ Ademola Lookman Didn’t Join Inter Milan

According to Ireporter Online, Lookman had been strongly linked with a transfer from Atalanta BC to Inter, but the Bergamo-based club reportedly refused to allow the winger join a direct domestic rival unless a fee of at least €50 million was met.

The move eventually failed to materialise, leaving the Nigerian forward at Atalanta for the opening months of the campaign before he later secured a January transfer to Atlético Madrid. Since arriving in Spain, Lookman has quickly made an impact, scoring four goals and providing three assists in 10 appearances across all competitions.

His performances have also played a role in Atlético Madrid’s run to the final of the Copa del Rey, where they are scheduled to face Real Sociedad at La Cartuja Stadium on April 18.

Speaking during an interview with The Athletic, the AC Milan defender reflected on some of the most difficult forwards he has faced since arriving at San Siro five years ago, mentioning Lookman alongside other high-profile attackers.

Tomori explained that players like Paulo Dybala and Lautaro Martínez pose serious challenges due to their movement and ability to find dangerous spaces, but added that Lookman’s constant movement makes him particularly difficult to contain.

The defender also revealed that he jokingly told Lookman their friendship would have been affected if the forward had joined Inter Milan.

Tomori, who opted to represent England national football team instead of Nigeria national football team, also praised Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, describing him as a relentless forward who never stops running throughout a match.

After initially joining AC Milan on loan, the 28-year-old centre-back has since established himself as a key figure at the club, making more than 200 appearances during his five-year spell with the Italian giants.
