Former Labour Party governorship candidate, Valentine Ozigbo, has publicly explained his decision to sever ties with former presidential candidate Peter Obi and join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to Ireporter Online, Ozigbo, a businessman and politician, revealed his reasoning during an interview with Symfoni TV. His move to the APC came as a shock to many, as he had long been regarded as a close associate of Obi.

Ozigbo stated that his discontent stemmed from his treatment within the Labour Party, which led him to reassess both his political direction and his relationship with some party members. He emphasized that he no longer wished to invest time in circles he considers lacking seriousness and commitment to political progress.

“I don’t want to waste my time with unserious people. Even though I’m not a proponent of APC’s approaches, I’m better off fighting from the inside. Peter Obi lacks basic leadership traits. He threw me under the bus,” Ozigbo said.

While acknowledging that he does not fully embrace the APC’s governance style or its past record, Ozigbo believes joining the ruling party provides an opportunity to influence change from within the system rather than remain on the sidelines.
