Governor Fubara’s Warning: Reappointed Commissioners Told Not To Destroy His Government

The governor specifically cautioned those loyal to FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, not to engage in activities that could potentially harm the administration.

In a ceremony where the Chief of Staff, Mr. Edison Ehie, and five special advisers were sworn in, Governor Fubara emphasized the need for those in privileged positions to refrain from actions that may disrupt the stability of the government.

Addressing the appointees, Governor Fubara stated, “Don’t use this position to antagonize anybody, even in your localities. I want to speak to you and I will continue to say it, what God cannot do does not exist.” He emphasized the importance of their appointment in addressing challenges and providing valuable solutions.

The governor urged them to view their roles as a call to duty, emphasizing the significance of adding value to governance and maintaining credibility. Fubara made it clear that the purpose of governance is to render services, even in challenging circumstances.

He added, “We have surrendered our situation to God, and God is going to solve it in a way that will shock the world for everybody to know that God is always God. Please, I don’t want this position to be a platform for you to start stalking anyone. Do what you know is right.”

Governor Fubara also directed the Secretary to the State Government to assign responsibilities to the commissioners sworn in the previous week and warned that consequences would follow if any attempted to work against the government’s objectives.

As the new appointees take on their roles, the governor emphasizes the importance of upholding ethical conduct and contributing positively to the government’s image. The warning serves as a reminder of the expectations placed on those entrusted with positions of influence in the state.
